Effective November 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Badger IT LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use Plotelle (the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • Profile information: any optional details you add
  • Submissions: text prompts, story ideas, characters, descriptions, and other content you submit
  • Communications: messages you send to our support team
  • Payment information: processed by a third-party payment processor (Stripe) — we do not store raw card data

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, generation history, time spent
  • Device information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers
  • Cookies and tracking: see Section 7
  • Log data: error logs, access timestamps

1.3 AI-generated content

Graphic novel content generated by the Platform based on your Submissions is processed and may be retained on our servers. See Section 3.

2. How we use your information

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform;
  • Process your Submissions and generate graphic novel content;
  • Train, improve, and develop our AI models (see Section 3);
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support;
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and Content Policy;
  • Comply with legal obligations;
  • Analyze usage trends to improve the Platform;
  • Send promotional communications, with your consent where required.

3. AI training data use

We use your Submissions and associated AI-generated content to train and improve our AI models. Text Submissions and generated outputs may be included in AI training datasets. We may aggregate and anonymize data before use. Data used for training may be retained beyond your account deletion, in anonymized form.

To opt out, email badgeritllc@gmail.com with subject line "AI Training Opt-Out" and include your account email. Opt-outs apply prospectively; data already incorporated into trained models cannot be removed.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers: cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, payment processors — bound by confidentiality obligations;
  • AI development partners: anonymized or aggregated training data only;
  • Law enforcement: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety;
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — users will be notified;
  • With your consent: for any other purpose with your prior consent.

5. Children's privacy (COPPA)

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Submissions from users under 13 are not used for AI training without separate parental consent. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, contact us immediately at badgeritllc@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your rights

6.1 All users

  • Access and correct your personal information via your account settings;
  • Delete your account and associated personal data by contacting badgeritllc@gmail.com;
  • Opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link in any email.

6.2 California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know, delete, opt out of sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, opt out of sharing that constitutes a "sale" under CPRA (including AI training), and non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Contact badgeritllc@gmail.com.

6.3 EEA / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA or UK you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing (including AI training), and withdrawal of consent. Our lawful basis is consent for AI training, legitimate interests for service operation, and contract performance for account features.

7. Cookies and tracking

We use essential, analytics, and preference cookies to operate the Platform, understand usage, and remember your settings. You can control cookies through your browser. Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies.

8. Data retention

  • Account data: retained until you delete your account, plus 30 days for backup recovery;
  • Submissions and generated content: retained indefinitely for AI training purposes unless you opt out;
  • Anonymized/aggregated data: may be retained indefinitely;
  • Legal hold: data may be retained longer if required by law or litigation.

9. Data security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities within the timeframes required by applicable law.

10. International data transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for EU data transfers.

11. Changes to this policy
